Last week, our CEO Andy Caine had the pleasure of attending the Lord’s Taverners Sportsman’s Lunch – an annual highlight that brings together business leaders, sports personalities, and supporters of one of the UK’s most respected youth charities.
The event did not disappoint. From start to finish, the room was filled with energy, generosity, and a shared commitment to helping young people overcome barriers through sport and inclusive activities.
A Memorable Afternoon With Familiar Faces
One of the standout features of the day was the guests in attendance. It was brilliant to catch up with: Jeff Charlton, Neil “Razor” Ruddock and Jamie Graham
Their presence added to the atmosphere and contributed to the sense of community and camaraderie the Lord’s Taverners are known for fostering.
Why This Event Matters
The Lord’s Taverners work tirelessly to empower young people facing inequality or disability, providing access to cricket programmes, inclusive sports, and essential equipment. Events like the Sportsman’s Lunch play a vital role in raising awareness and funding for these initiatives.
For AWC, being part of this occasion reinforces our commitment not only to excellence in our own field, but also to supporting organisations that make a meaningful difference in society.
Looking Ahead
We left the event inspired and grateful – both for the opportunity to attend and for the incredible work happening behind the scenes to change young lives. A huge thank you to the Lord’s Taverners for hosting another outstanding event, and to everyone who attended and contributed.
We’re already looking forward to next year.
